The staff accountant will provide direct support to the Store Accounting Manager for a number of key responsibilities within the department across the areas of: store accounting and accounts payable. Many of these objectives require this position to manage the process from start to finish without much direct supervision. This position requires an above average skill level with Excel.

The staff accountant will provide direct support to the Store Accounting Manager for a number of key responsibilities within the department across the areas of: store accounting and accounts payable. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cash
· Record daily corporate bank activity to general ledger
· Process positive pay and void checks in the banking system
· Assist with the daily recording and reconciliation of the stores receipts and sales information
· Weekly statement preparation for our Affiliate Stores
· Other account reviews and reconciliations as assigned
Inventory
· Participate in the reconciliation of store inventories including reporting information to the stores on the “Day of” and reconciling the counted inventory to the general ledger
· Creates and Posts the monthly inventory reports
· PO Matching
· Record warehouse and store inventory transaction journal entries and verify inventory on the general ledger is in balance to the reports
Accounts Payable
· Prepare electronic invoices and upload them into the ERP system for payment
· Review and add keywords to invoices through a workflow built in Onbase – an image storage software to manage documents
· AP invoice entry and end of day processing in financial system.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience:
· Accountancy qualification with at least 3 year of related accounting experience in most of the areas described in this job description
· Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and best practice
· Supreme level in the use of the following software applications: Excel, Word and PeopleSoft (or other ERP application)

· Software Proficiency: Be one of the department leaders in knowledge of and ability to use all of the software applications necessary for the fulfilment of this role
